Alex approached me about doing his personal website in 2019. He had just been awarded Ottawa’s Forty Under 40 and wanted a website that would distinguish himself as a brand.
My first task was to create a logo for him. I wanted to create something that had a marriage between his two most dominant characteristics; his passion for water and business, primarily in the tech world.
I was really interested in the connection between a circuit (for tech) and the fluidity of water. Thus working closely with Alex, we came up with his logo.
Alex wanted his website to be clean and simplistic, which is where the monochromatic colour palette and use of white space came in.
The biggest challenge for Alex’s site was coming up with a way to showcase his extensive work/volunteer experience. We wanted to come up with a solution that would be interactive for the user yet sustainable, seeing as Alex isn’t planning on slowing down any time soon.
The end result was to come up with an interactive timeline that would be easy to upload.
