GS5

Overview

GS5 was one of my first UX freelance designs. GS5 ( Global Skills, Students, Safety, Systems-thinking, Sustainability ) is a teaching service for aviation and aerospace industries that use virtual reality, gamification and other immersive technology to change how traditional classrooms operate.

I wanted to give GS5’s website a unique look that would differentiate itself from any other university/college website. Although I wanted it to look different, I did a lot of research on college websites to see similarities in the UX that would be welcomed into GS5. I did this so that users who were looking at other programs would be able to navigate this website even though it was so atheistically different then what they were used to. In short, the UI was much more modern and sleek compared to other traditional learning institutions, but the UX remained fairly consistent so that users would easily be able to adapt to this new virtual way of learning.

The design was bold, modern and relied heavily on tech. I was inspired by the gaming industry and brought that into the creative concept. Since handing over my designs to GS5 they have grown as a company and got a graphic designer who then changed a lot of the look on the website. I do not take credit for any of the changes that occurred.
